Seminole Electric Cooperative Inc. Selects TIC – The Industrial Company to Build New Natural Gas Plant

TAMPA, Fla. (April 18, 2018) — Seminole Electric Cooperative, Inc. today announced that TIC – The Industrial Company has been selected as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for a new 1,050-megawatt natural gas plant in Palatka, Florida. The power facility is part of Seminole’s long-term strategy to meet the future needs of electric cooperatives throughout Florida.

TIC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation, one of North America’s largest construction and engineering organizations, which has contributed to more than 600 power-related projects over the past 10 years.

Construction of the 2×1 gas-fired, combined cycle facility is expected to kick off in December 2019 with an anticipated substantial completion date in late 2022. Information on construction-related job opportunities, will be posted at in early 2019.
